Privacy Policy
Last updated: 19 July 2026. YESYOU is committed to protecting your personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA) of South Africa and applicable privacy law where you live.
1. Who we are
YESYOU ("we", "us", "our") is founded by Jo Riley and operated as the YESYOU digital membership and related offerings at yesyou.life and the YESYOU mobile application. Responsible party / information officer contact: hello@yesyou.life.
2. What this policy covers
This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use the YESYOU website, app, membership, live sessions, retreats and related services; why we collect it; how we share it; how long we keep it; and the rights you have under POPIA and similar laws.
3. Personal information we collect
Depending on how you use YESYOU, we may collect:
- Identity & contact: name, email address, and account identifiers from our authentication provider (Clerk).
- Account & profile: display name, preferences, membership status, and optional notes you choose to share.
- Payment: billing details processed by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers on YESYOU servers.
- Usage: sessions you play or reserve, device type, app version, approximate region, and diagnostic events needed to run and secure the service.
- Communications: emails, support messages, and notes you send to Jo or the YESYOU team.
- Community (COSMOS): cluster memberships and content you post in spaces you join.
4. Why we process your information
We process personal information to:
- create and secure your account;
- provide membership access, media playback and live session tools;
- process payments and manage subscriptions;
- send transactional messages (receipts, booking confirmations, security);
- respond to support requests;
- improve reliability, safety and product experience;
- comply with law and enforce our Terms.
Where required, our lawful bases include contract performance, legitimate interests (operating a secure membership platform), consent (where we ask for it), and legal obligation.
5. Who we share information with
We use trusted processors who only handle data on our instructions, including:
- Clerk — authentication and account identity;
- Stripe — payment processing;
- Railway / hosting providers — application and database hosting;
- Cloudflare R2 — media storage and delivery;
- Email and messaging tools used for support and transactional mail.
We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in a business transfer with appropriate safeguards.
6. Cross-border transfers
Some processors are located outside South Africa. Where we transfer personal information internationally, we take steps consistent with POPIA to keep it protected (for example contractual safeguards and reputable providers with appropriate security).
7. Retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above, including legal, accounting and dispute-resolution needs. You may request deletion of your account; some records may be retained where the law requires.
8. Security
We use industry-standard measures such as encrypted transport (HTTPS), access controls, and authenticated APIs. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure; please use a strong unique password and protect your devices.
9. Children
YESYOU is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
10. Your rights (POPIA)
Subject to applicable law, you may request to:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- correct or update inaccurate information;
- object to or restrict certain processing;
- request deletion where appropriate;

- lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa).
